Roads I pave

I close the curtains and I feel peace

This is where my life has been, I feel home

All this one street, my connections ne’er cease

Although I leave I am here when I roam

Everyday when I close the curtains 

My heart skips beats; i’m scared to go to sleep

In a way I leave, my air deserted 

But feelings through me, immensely they seep

But I take a deep breath, holding them tight

Peering down to the ground, and they ground me

They, holding the street behind them and life

Above, I calm down upon realizing I’m free

This road I've paved gives me courage to stay

To close my eyes, knowing I’ll wake just to lay
